Sam Winstanley (Managing Director)

Sam Winstanley is a software professional with over 15 years of experience working with many areas research technology including CAI systems, reporting systems, data warehouses, libraries and data-mining tools. In this time Sam has had the benefit of working with most of the worlds major research agencies and many large multinational organisations and government organisations.

Prior to forming forgetdata Sam worked at SPSS for 12 years, holding a number of roles. He helped to create PASW Data Collection (Dimensions) product line working as a Senior Developer doing product design, architecture and programming work. He moved on to the role of Solution Architect helping SPSS’s enterprise customers to build end to end solutions around SPSS software and managed a global team of software architects. During this time Sam worked with most of the worlds largest market research companies as well as many multinational organisations. Before this Sam worked at WDG Research where he managed IT on a day to day basis and assisted in the production of reports and presentations.

Sam holds a Physics Degree from the University of East Anglia in Norwich as well as professional certifications in software development and software architecture he is a affiliate member of the Market Research Society has presented to the Association of Survey Computing, ESOMAR and at internal conferences for a number of organisations.
